According to the most recent information produced by Spain’s notaries, average property prices increased during the month of December 2017. Property sales figures are also slightly up for the eighth month in a row.
48.956 properties exchanged in December 2017, a 4.5% increase than during the same period in 2016. 9.5% of the property exchanged was apartments or flats, 3.6% higher than in 2016. The number of semi-detached or detached properties which exchanged rose by 8%.
Whilst the news is good, December’s growth was by far the lowest of the year. June, August, and October saw growth of over 20% whist the other months in 2017 still enjoyed double-digit growth.
Prices increased by 1.8% in 2017 with a square meter selling for some € 1.383,00.
The number of mortgages issued stood at 19.848, some 0.2% lower than in 2016 and the average loan capital also fell by 0.1% to € 138.694,00.
